Sempai Nora Thomson

Sempai Nora's life was changed forever from the moment she walked into Parker Linekin's Kenpo Karate dojo in San Diego California in January 1975. "I was hooked from the first moment." A year later when she moved back to Europe, she switched to Shotokan and trained mainly with the Abergavenny club in South Wales. During those years she attended many camps led by Sensei Enoeda (the Tiger), Sensei Kase and Sensei Shirai.

Since joining Brad Jones Karate in 1993, Sempai Nora has continued to enhance her knowledge of Shotokan Karate. She was fortunate to participate in competition in Tokyo in 2001. She conducted many self defense courses for women and girls through Girls Inc. and area schools.

In 2020 Sempai Nora earned her Sandan.

In 2022 Sempai Nora became a judge with Karate Ontario and has officiated in competitions in Ontario & Quebec.

"Karate is a life long journey of constant learning about the art and about ourselves."
